Power Yoga

Power Yoga is a fitness-based vinyasa practice. An offshoot of Ashtanga Yoga, it has many of the same qualities and benefits, including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength, and flexibility, as well as stress reduction. Teachers design their own sequences, while students synchronize their breath with their movement. The original Power Yoga was developed and founded by Beryl Bender Birch, but is now a term used to describe many vigorous vinyasa styles.

Our 7 sacred reasons to step on the mat and practice power yoga:

  1. Gain energy and positivity
  2. Improve concentration and focus in all areas of life
  3. Decrease back pain and increase posture awareness
  4. Fight anxiety and improve social skills
  5. Enhance athletic ability by increasing cardiovascular efficiency
  6. Improve sleep and calm the mind
  7. Gain muscle tone and lose weight

Power Yoga is a series of postures designed to improve Strength, Balance, and Flexibility.

Each class is independently sequenced by our teachers, offering varied, fun, and dynamic classes that will keep you on your toes. At the Power Yoga Company we passionately believe that Power Yoga is for everyone.

It doesn’t matter how fit you are, how old you are, or how flexible. The yoga we teach is not about learning to put your feet behind your ears, it’s about learning to love and look after the body you’ve been given. It’s about challenging your limits, both mentally and physically and learning to breathe through it.

Power Yoga is so much more than a just a physical workout – that’s why it’s so addictive. Not only will Power Yoga help you achieve a beautiful body but it will also help to develop a beautiful mind. It allows us to find peace in the hurly-burly of urban life and become a calmer, healthier, and happier person.

Although our classes are challenging, they are also rewarding. With regular practice you will make rapid progress and we’re certain that you will soon begin to feel the benefits of power yoga in all areas of your life.
